Wendy Wilson, LCMFT
Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist
Whether you are dealing with general life challenges or issues specifically related to being a woman, I can help. My goal is to help women become empowered. I believe we can change how we live by changing how we think. We can change our negative self-thoughts and unhealthy behaviors, learn how to express ourselves in an assertive way and set healthy boundaries, overcome trauma and move from surviving to thriving, change how we relate to others and improve our relationships, improve our body image, make healthy choices, learn how to manage/overcome anxiety or depression or anything else that is keeping us from reaching our potential.
We will do assessment to determine how you reached the point you are at now. This is essential. We will be partners in this journey and together we will determine the best treatment approach for your specific situation. Therapy should take place in a judgment free environment. I want you to feel safe and respected. Whatever you are feeling is valid.
During a difficult time in my life, I sought therapy and know from personal experience how beneficial therapy can be. I also know that therapy is challenging work but if you are willing to do that work you will see progress. Working together we can help you take control of whatever it is that is keeping you from living a full and satisfying life.
In addition to being a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist, I am also an RN, have a degree in Women’s Studies, was a doula, and taught pregnancy and childbirth education classes for many years.

John Vonagher, LMSW
Licensed Master Level Social Worker
“People are feeling machines that think, not thinking machines that feel!”
My name is John (he/him), I’m a humanitarian and social worker, and believe that humans are emotional beings to the core. My journey has taken me many places both professionally and personally. From restaurant management to wild land firefighting, to addictions work and detox unit monitoring. It has been a truly wild ride! In general, I approach life with an open mind and open heart. I process everything humanly possible from a place of humility and growth, and believe the day we stop growing, is the day we start dying!
I came to Wichita almost 12 years ago with my, then girlfriend, now wife Alyssa. After wrestling briefly in college at Fort Hays State University, I was kicking around Lawrence Kansas and decided to make a change. I got to Wichita and got back in school, earning my associate’s degree in Fire Science from Hutchinson Community College. After a bit of work and another change of heart, my then fiancé and I both enrolled at Wichita State University and earned our undergraduate degrees in Social Work. We both discovered our passions for this work through those years, with my focus being substance use and addictions, and hers being the aging population. After working for a while, during which we got married and had our daughter Violet, we decided to go back and earn our master’s degrees. Now in 2024, with a 2-and-a-half-year-old, and our little family onto a new chapter, we are ready to serve our community in a whole
new way!
My career in the field of social work has been largely in substance use, serving the
Wichita area community at a substance use treatment center for many years. My passions are many, but I have a deep love for working with individuals struggling with substances. It is my strong belief that substance use stems from other effected areas in our lives. The larger, more complete picture is essential for lasting positive change. I approach this work, and most all my work, from a direct, very hands on angle. Leaning heavily into objective focuses and goal orientation. I have extensive experience working with substance use clients, from counseling to various size group work, and everything in between. Through my nearly 8 years of experience working with this population in one capacity or another, I’ve come to believe there is no “one size fits all” approach for individuals struggling with addiction. Every client must be provided with the space and time they need to tell their story, so that a truly mutual understanding of that individual and their situation can be obtained. I’m an extrovert that values communication and strong personal connections. I care deeply for the clients and populations I have the privilege of serving. My methods and modalities hinge on the person-in-environment lens, making my practice very wholistic in nature. Building rapport and creating a solid foundation for my clients and I to work from is paramount and of the utmost importance to me. I will get to know you, I will care about you, I will be connected to you, and I will come to understand you. This is how I believe we will work together and figure out the best ways for YOU to make improvement and meet YOUR goals.
